Holiday Regions
A holday region in South Tyrol is the cooperation between several independent Tourism Boards from a certain area to a regional brand with the aim of bringing the holiday region to the market together. In this way, the available resources are centred and the penetrating power on the market is bundled, and competent marketing experts are employed.
A holiday region can have the legal form of a board, a co-op, a syndicate or a consortium.
The tasks of holiday regions can be summarised as follows:
- responsible for the general marketing of the villages and the area (destination)
- supra-municipal cooperation on the area of tourism; determination of joint goals and organisation and coordination of the activities of the Tourism Boards
- regional brand building
- brand profiling and positioning of the destination
- brand presentation at fairs on a national and international level
- media and public relations
- sales promotions (hotel, image brochures, etc.)
- professional internet appearance and promotion of the holiday region
- social media marketing
- organisation and realisation of supra-municipal events
- organisation of tourism services inclusive of booking services
- regional guest card
- strategic destination management
- strategic partnerships
- main point of contact for the SMG
- link between the SMG and tourism boards
- taking initiatives in the field of product and offer development in cooperation with the SMG
